Aquathlon Series Rules

 Aquathlon League

Overall positions in the League will be decided using the competitors best 4 events, in terms of individual scoring. Competitors need 4 events to get a final place in the League competition, those with less than 4 events will not get a final placing. Certificates will be issued to those completing 4 or more events. Points will be awarded equally at all events. 10 points for first, 9 for second and so on down to 1. Every competitor will receive at least 1 point.

In the event of a tie in the League standings at the end of the season, both competitors would be declared as winners or equal for whatever position they tied for.

Club competition
Competitors points would also be used for the club competition, as is currently the case. Points would be earned only for clubs affiliated to triathlonscotland. Competitors would nominate the club they represent at the start of the year, all points earned that year would go towards this club.

Aquathlon Cup
Rather than having an Aquathlon Final with additional points, it is proposed that there be an Aquathlon Cup event. In effect this will be one of the League events that will be designated as the Cup / Championship event as well. So an individual winning their category / age group becomes the Scottish Aquathlon Cup Champion and gets a trophy, whilst also getting 10 points towards the League competition in the normal fashion.

It is proposed for the first year that the last race of the season - Prestonpans, be the Aquathlon Cup race in the first year
